Quality and safety with IMO certified products
At Prolance Marine Flooring, we exclusively work with flooring products that meet the IMO and MED certification requirements. IMO certification includes strict tests on fire resistance, smoke development, and toxicity. We ensure that all our products carry this certification, guaranteeing the safety and quality of our flooring
The IMO certification, introduced by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) in 1978, ensures that materials meet the highest international safety standards. This certification ensures that the products have been tested for their resistance in the event of a fire. It means that IMO-certified flooring is less flammable, and when fire does break out it produces less smoke and releases fewer toxic gases. The risk of suffocation or severe smoke inhalation during a fire is thus significantly reduced for crew members and passengers
European MED Certification
In addition to IMO certification, our products comply with the European Marine Equipment Directive (MED). This directive emphasizes compliance with European safety standards, essential for maritime products in Europe.
