Prolance Marine Flooring: close partners
We co-operate with a selected number of partners to ensure certain quality standards, flexibility and a maximal level of service. In this article we highlighted three of main partners in flooring solutions.
Maritime flooring
Floors are available in a range of designs and have a unique appearance. In addition, the variety in materials, colors and finishes are endless. Every floor type possesses its own characteristics. Many types of floors can be combined with each other, which can create uniformity on board. This combination can match the interior with the ship and make it one.
#1 Amtico Marine floors
Floors on board of a vessel are expected to resist all kinds of forces, such as daily exposure to (salt) water, heavy objects and other mechanical loads. The IMO Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) of Amtico Marine are ideal for the commercial -and medium heavy duty areas within a ship. These floors are durable, stain resistant, easy to install and easy to maintain. When it comes to a sustainable and healthy indoor climate, Amtico’s LVT floors score high: only phthalate-free and organic plasticizers are used. In addition, Amtico floors are produced with 30% recycled content and are 100% recyclable.
About Amtico
Amtico is a British company that was founded 50 years ago and is one of the major companies that provides IMO PVC floors. Amtico works closely with designers and architects, collaborating and combining creativity with unparalleled expertise in LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tiles).
#2 Tarkett Desso floors
IMO carpet adds a warm and atmospheric feeling to the interior of a ship. Tarkett is the leading supplier of DESSO® high quality marine carpets made from wool or nylon. Their focus is primarily on superior floor design in combination with the addition of the functional benefits of their products. DESSO® IMO carpet floors by Tarkett are lightweight and fire retardant.
Some of the carpets are solely IMO certified for the application in the accommodation areas; others are fully certified for application in corridors and public areas. DESSO® Tarkett carpets are an environmentally responsible choice as this flooring meets the ‘Cradle to cradle’ and CRI Green Label Plus standards. Furthermore, selected carpets are available in broadloom carpet and carpet tiles. Another significant product group of Tarkett is the IQ Granit range, which is fully IMO certified. This type of PVC floor is 2 meter wide and is characterized by the great price/quality ratio.
About Tarkett
Tarkett offers innovative flooring solutions for a wide range of segments with a wide range of products. The company has been recycling since 1957 and leads ReStart® in Europe and North America. ReStart® was founded for the collection and recycling of clean residual material from floor installations. Corporate social responsibility is also of paramount importance here at Prolance. Prolance recently received the ReStart® certificate from Tarkett for its re-use of floor solutions.
#3 Sika Marine flooring systems
Noise and vibration are the main sources of disturbance on board of a ship. Air born noise, structure born noise and contact noise are the main types of noise that can interfere with the health of passengers and crew members. It is therefore vital that the noise levels on board are minimized to an acceptable level. The products of Sika Marine provide excellent noise reduction properties, combined with strong heavy duty characteristics and trendy designs. The combination of floating floor systems or screed floors with polyurethane synthetic floors enables these properties. Every ship deck requires its own specific floor build-up: ask for advice for a specific deck.
